Woodford DO (non-barrel proof) picks
I’m almost to the end of my Woodford DO SP bottle and am looking to get another. Does anyone know of any Woodford DO SPs that are not barrel proof and that are still at the original 60-70 ish price point?

Good question because I haven’t seen one in a long time. Sprayberry was pumping them out for a while.

The 2022 Sprayberry pick was one my favorites. Unfortunately I finished that one a while back and don’t have a replacement.

I don’t know if they still have it but for a long time Tower had a SP that was maybe around 95 proof. I’m not 100%, my memory has gone through a lot of whiskey. The problem was I believe it was around $90-99 for the bottle. I’d call them or I’ll comment again next time I’m there if I see it.

That pick appears to be gone, but Tower Buckhead does have the 132 proof Larceny pick for 40. That one is a great value imo

Sorry, I forgot to comment, they have it still at the Doraville one but is like 3 more proof than the regular and it’s $90 I believe. Not recommended, lot of great bourbon & oaked bourbon at that price.
I bought that larceny pick couple weeks ago, very good and killer good at that price.

Not sure if you’re still looking, but Gary’s Wine & More had it for $49.99 yesterday. Depends if Cumming is a drive for you.

I was looking for a Woodford DO SP for a while until I asked for it at Maxxs Bottle shop. According to him, he doesn't bother with a SP for Woodford DO because the whiskey is batched before putting it in the second barrel. So at most you would be picking the finishing barrel but that is very controled. They do have 3 batch types so you're really just picking a batch.
So the only advantage of a store pick is if you find a batch you like:
You can't tell the batch by looking at the bottle though. All this changed this year too, so no idea what they are doing now.
