Watching the 9/11 attack live my senior year of high school. Seeing that second plane hit in real time, we all were utterly speechless.

Yep. Same. I was in the Navy at the time and watched it all unfold on the tv in our maintenance shop. I knew right then our lives would be forever changed.

I can only imagine how 9/11 must've felt being on active duty. Man, I've never really thought about it from that perspective before.

That will never be lost to me again. Really, thank you for the reminder.

Forever grateful for you and your fellow armed service members' sacrifices during that tough period. I've never seen the country come together like we did after the attack before or since.

I feel like people cared for one another a lot more back then.

You were worth the sacrifice.
I wish our country was united again like it was on 9/12.

"You were worth the sacrifice."

YOU are the real MVP. I really hope life is treating you well. And THAT line got me over here dang near teary eyed.

Friend, your integrity is irreproachable. I'm just glad people like you are out there.

I'd love to go back and experience the untity we had then too. Just live in those times again. My young, naive mind didn't understand how much things would eventually change, and not for the best IMO.

Some customer at my old job demanded a full refund AND to keep the item because "the inconvenience ruined their whole week"

manager just blinked at them for like five seconds before speaking

LMAO. People are delusional, esp in retail good lord.

I had someone yell at me because they asked if I had pennies to give them from a register, and I told them that I can't give them to him for free, but I could ask my manager about giving him change for a dollar or something. He then proceeded to call me stupid, yelling & causing a scene in the middle of a jewelry store and I was just standing there trying not to laugh

the sheer amount of pluralmisia (hostility towards plural systems and collectives of the like) in some reddit communities.

I had to google this.

2

u/the-clock-enthusiast 1h ago

yeah, not a very common term, edited it so its more accessible to people who dont know what it means.

just pisses us off whenever we get fakeclaimed for existing. its no redditors' business if we have a disorder or not and posts shouldnt be taken down just because they mention plurality yk

This is so stupid of me, but when I found out Laughy Taffy is so named because there are little jokes on the wrapper - my jaw literally fell open! 🤦🏽‍♀️

When our current leader won the election the first time. Or maybe when I found out he was actually running.

When I found out my girlfriend’s brother died.

Happened years back on the cusp of New Years. About three days prior on a quiet night. I was at home and my girlfriend was with her family, then, a phone call from her cousin to drive over immediately.

It was surreal.

The drive felt like an eternity and walking into that house felt like time stopping.

Death is death but when it’s a young person, it transforms the atmosphere.

Yeah. That phone call is the only thing to ever make my jaw drop.

OJ’s not guilty verdict. I could not believe what I heard.

Seeing Bonnie Blue was doing one of the worst sins man kind could do- her of all people bringing a child into the world, fully knowing how screwed over it's life would be.
