There are exceptions to this I have learned over time, like being alone with a kid having a major meltdown or tantrum in a store or in the lot, sometimes you just have to bail.
That's also true, I once encountered an elder who had a bathroom accident in the aisle and they had to abandon their stuff. Totally valid reason to bail.
