Men, what’s one small, seemingly insignificant thing you’ve noticed that can be a telltale sign of the difference between a genuinely good man and a bad one?

"Treat the janitor with the same respect as the CEO"

I actually respect the janitorial staff more.

Without the CEO, the company might have issues in a month or two. Without janitors, the company will be in chaos by tomorrow

Tomorrow if you're lucky. Depending on the workplace a couple of hours may be all it takes

I doubt it would be chaos 'by tomorrow'. All that will be happening is the super bourgeoisie will be 'grossed out' and quit, while the grimiest of the neckbeards continue working like it's home, feeling more at home, as the days go by.

I prefer to treat the janitor with respect, unlike the CEO

ITT: lots of people with ADHD!

We don't see rank, we see actions. Everyone gets respect until they show they aren't worthy of it.

Being a good person is an ADHD symptom?

A lot of pretty normal traits are getting listed as mental disorder symptoms nowadays

Asking for clarification will get you marked higher on most modern autism tests, because only those with autism want clarification

It's adjacent... ADHD tends to result in people being rule-followers as well as judging people on their actions not their projected power. There are plenty of other reasons for those things to happen too, but in my experience the confidence you otherwise need to develop to ignore rank come with age, where ADHD is for life.

I'm very lucky in that my father offered the model of treating everyone the same. And I have ADHD. And I'm old.

So I guess I've got a trifecta of seeing everyone as equal.

Same. It was only once I got into my 50s and realised just how much of my lifelong weirdness matched ADHD symptoms perfectly that I also recognised that my mom had clearly had it bad too. Sadly she'd passed away by then so we couldn't compare notes...

Janitors actually work and don't try to screw everyone's lives for a bonus that means nothing to them, so I'm with you.

Obligatory "Wait, hell no! I'm not going to guillotine the janitor!"

Usually janitors are competent. With CEO's its a toss up.

One of them is doing a real job. One is a CEO.
