All the standard 'green flags' are easily adopted by malignant narcissist. Especially if they have that 'charm' that makes you want to believe them. If you really want to know someone it takes time and there's no substitute.

True, but most narcissists think they're a lot smarter and a lot better at manipulating people than they actually are.

Temporarily, yes. And it's an important point, and why you have to be aware of the red flags, not just look for the green ones.

I feel for that a few times. Never again. Though even getting to know someone can be dangerous if they're a narcissist... without ever dating them or anything like that.
