Chinese equivalent of Anna's Archive for academic papers?

I'm doing research that requires relying on work by researchers from mainland China (PRC), but I can't find much of it on Anna's Archive.

Does anyone know of a Chinese-language equivalent of Anna's Archive for finding academic papers, theses, and books published in Mandarin by Chinese researchers/institutions easily?

Any pointers (sites, forums, or communities) would be much appreciated. Thanks!

There are currently more books in Chinese on Anna's Archive than in English. A group of Chinese programmers collaborated with Anna's Archive to release 5-6 million non-fiction books. To find Chinese books, change your interface language to 中文. I have noticed that your interface language impacts your search results.

I didn’t know that the language mattered

Here is an experiment.

  1. Search [lu xun] on the English interface.
  2. Then repeat your search on the French interface.
  3. You will notice that the results are different.

Before searching for books in French, Chinese, and other languages, I always change the interface language.

The academic equivalent of Anna’s Archive is Scihub which moved to telegram as Ordo Nexus. Try that.

No... Sci Hub and Nexus are two separate projects run by different people.

Unfortunately I do think it’s Anglophone biased but it wouldn’t hurt to try. Most reputable Chinese research wants to publish in Western journals in my STEM case though.

Why don’t you reach out to Chinese historians / legal scholars and ask them directly?

You can find some academic papers on this academic search engine 百度学术.

独秀 is there completely accessible through AA whkch is a great source for all sorts of nonfiction books, not papers though.

And then there is the EU-wide project of xasia that is the platform you might want to get a login through your institution as it bundles hundreds of Chinese scientific paper databases. It is pricy and not for personal usage as far as I know but for lots of people their institution is able to work out an account for you easily.
