AAAAAND Quixel Mixer just bit the big one....and they released the last version free for MacOS and Windows. Thank you to gamefromscratch!
Quixel Mixer was just formally discontinued and Epic Games is releasing the last version (2023.1.0) as a free, offline-only edition for use. It won't see any updates with upgrading OSes, so take that as a caveat. DEFINITELY watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycY_MIkeKDI as Mike makes a LOT of good points regarding this app; ESPECIALLY about the 30GB download of all the textures (PLEASE make sure you have enough room on your system to handle this). For those of you who don't know about Quixel Mixer, it's one of those software packages that does what Substance Designer + Painter do. I used it back in the day when Adobe snapped up Substance and was using it until Epic, in turn, snapped up Quixel and started REALLY charging for it (used to be a $10/month subscription). Put it down after that. As always, hope this helps.
