I am absolutely GOBSMACKED by the people who think that AI chatbots would ever have your back, keep your (illegal) secrets (from the law), or do anything other than empower and embolden the surveillance state.

Were they born yesterday or what?

Yeah. There are multiple prosecutions underway where they're using conversations with AI as evidence.
