WE NEED A CONFESSION ACCOUNT FOR XJTLU!!!!!

First of all, this post is only for XJTLU students and staff (apologies for posting in this subreddit).

I think everyone has seen that famous Tsinghua confession account on Insta. The drama there is sooo good lmao, and I think we should have one for our school too. I personally lack experience in running a social account and have a rather small circle within the uni, so I propose that another person handle it. Or is there already an existing account or channel that I'm not aware of??? I just wanna hear the drama(i mean who doesn't lol)

XJTLU admission

Hi! I’m considering applying to XJTLU (international business with a language major) and wanted to ask how competitive the admissions process is.

I graduated with a US high school diploma and a 4.00 GPA. I also have three AP exams, all with scores of 4, and a 1340 SAT, which I’m currently working on improving. I was also wondering how important extracurricular activities are in the application process, and how realistic it would be to receive a scholarship with my academic profile.

I’m also a little unsure about my diploma. I completed most of my education in regular in-person schools, mainly in Poland, and spent one year at a high school in the US. I then finished my final year online from Poland and received a regular US high school diploma. Some universities in South Korea told me they would not accept a diploma if the final part of high school was completed online, so I’m wondering whether this could be an issue at XJTLU as well.

I’d really appreciate any insight from people who know the admissions process or have applied with a similar background!

Looking for a Roommate at Zhejiang Normal University (Jinhua) 🇨🇳

Hi everyone! I’m an incoming international student at Zhejiang Normal University (ZJNU) and I’ll be arriving in Jinhua next week.

I’m looking for 1–3 roommates GIRL for Guiyuan Dormitory. It’s a newer dorm, with 4 people per room.

A little about me:

• International student from Indonesia

• I’m hoping to find roommates from other Asian countries (not Indonesia)

• Clean and respectful of shared spaces

• Usually pretty quiet, especially when studying

• I’m okay with hanging out and getting to know each other, but I also respect personal space

• I’d love to have roommates who are open to occasionally cooking/eating together or exploring Jinhua!

If you’re also looking for roommates at ZJNU and interested in sharing a Guiyuan room, feel free to DM me! We can introduce ourselves and see if we’d be a good fit :)

Preferably looking for other international/Asian students, but everyone is welcome to message me.

Suzhou WeChat groups

Hi everyone!
I’m a 23-year-old girl from Germany and I’ll be moving to Suzhou for 6 months for my internship. I’m really excited to explore the city and meet some new people along the way.
I’d especially love to find some likeminded people who enjoy things like:
Pilates, yoga or barre
Running / running clubs
Coffee and brunch
Book clubs
Exploring the city and going on little weekend trips

I’m not really a big party person, so I’d love to find people who enjoy a more relaxed and active lifestyle.

Are there any WeChat groups, clubs or communities you’d recommend joining? Or maybe some nice places or events where it’s easy to meet new people?
I’d love to connect with some of you, so feel free to comment or send me a message!

Gamer friends wanted IRL, do you fit the criteria?

Post image
3 Upvotes

September brings a lot of new faces to the city, so I figured I'd give this a shot.

Looking for gamers interested in hanging out IRL. Must be serious about gaming and have near-native English fluency. Having been in groups where the lack of English proficiency led to unnecessary drama and having met people who claimed to be fluent yet struggled with basic communication have led me to set such standards, especially with voice chat in competitive games demanding communication to be fast and precise.

Platforms: PS5 (main) and PC.

Preferred genres: FPS, racing, open-world, co-op, competitive and story-driven games.

Frequently played games: CoD, Battlefield, GTA5, RDR2, Rocket League, GT7, Forza Horizon 6 and so on.

For more detailed profiles, check out these links:

PSN: https://psnprofiles.com/GHOST_RIDER_18_

STEAM: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198333851293

Not into 2D fighting games, retro games, or strategy games. Gamers have different tastes, those aren't mine.

Open to trying new games, but games within these genres are preferred. Also interested in playing Texas Hold'em poker IRL. The main purpose is finding people with common interests who want to meet up IRL. DM if interested.

Looking for shops selling authentic silk products but not in tourist traps

I am heading to Suzhou and really want to buy authentic silk products! Everywhere on the internet says the Factory is the most reliable for quality but very high prices.

Anyone have recs for shops that won’t sell me fake silk but are also not super high tourist prices? Please give specific names/locations. Thank you!!

questions regarding xjtlu!

hii! im a 16yo in my last year of high school, and i want to be an accounting major in uni. i'll be graduating in may of next year(i'll be 17 by then) and i've been debating on whether to apply for xjtlu or not.. my mom says that i'm not allowed to go abroad for uni unless i have someone there to accompany me—luckily my friend is applying to xjtlu too. after finding out my friend is planning on going there, i've been really focused on xjtlu, and xjtlu alone. as in, i haven't really dived into any other unis.. i know i should probably have a backup in my country, but i really don't like any of the unis here, and im not even fluent in my own language(i didn't grow up here so my first language is english). i'm also aware that xjtlu is relatively expensive and i worry about that, because my family(4 kids: 1 working, 1 interning at a hospital in a few weeks, 1 in uni, 1 in hs) isn't exactly the wealthiest.. i mean, my dad could probably pay for the tuition fees, but i don't want to burden my parents that much, which is why i want to try for a scholarship.

my stats so far are: owlypia online round silver, owlypia locals gold, 3(another one coming up in november) basketball competitions(honorable mention, 2nd, and 3rd), nsdc 4th best group, iyeo(econ competition) silver, and vice president of one of the school council divisions(1 year). I havent taken IELTS yet, but i'm confident i can get above a band 7. I'm planning to take them by the end of this month(sept), or in the first week of next month(oct), because my agent says that admissions usually open in the second week of october.

so, basically what i want to ask is: 1) is it realistic of me to apply for a scholarship / am i a strong candidate for a scholarship? 2) is xjtlu a strong option for me?

please feel free to give me any other info/advice/comments! i'm rlly desperate for any sort of advice rn bcs idk who else to ask these questions to..

Theme parks in Dec

Hi all, will be in the Suzhou area on the week of 30th Nov, and would like to visit a few theme parks (China Dinosaur Park, Suzhou Amusement Land Forest World and World Joyland)

Would like to find out:

  • Do the roller coasters for the theme parks operate during this period in winter?
  • How are the crowds like at the theme parks, in terms of queue times?

Thank you!

I am asked to take 20 credits in English so they can validate my semester exchange at XJTLU, does anyone know if they have enough classes in English for CS major in spring semester?
