As always, this is an informational post. Please don't use this post to promote parties or candidates.
Make sure your vote is counted.
If you are mailing in your ballot, there are some developments at USPS. Please consider mailing earlier than usual.
An ongoing issue with USPS should be monitored closely. Please keep this in mind so that an alternative plan can be made.
U.S. District Court Judge Indira Talwani’s July 25 ruling that the USPS can’t refuse to deliver mail ballots to states that refuse to comply with the U.S. Justice Department’s (DOJ) demands for their unredacted voter lists will remain in place. SourceOn July 28: The United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia affirmed a lower court’s decision, holding that a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of Trump’s March 2026 edict was premature because the administration hasn’t executed it yet. Source
A Massachusetts federal judge has repeatedly blocked the U.S. Postal Service from implementing President Donald Trump's mail-in voting executive order ahead of the midterms. Now that the injunction applies nationwide, the DOJ is telling the U.S. Supreme Court it has all it needs to swiftly issue a stay. Source
The SAVE America Act is still in play as of July 26 and may affect voting. Please consider getting all of your paperwork in order. Note that it can take several weeks to get documents on marriage and legal name changes. The PA Real ID is not compliant with the Save America Act. Update As of August 12, the Senate has gone on recess without passing the SAVE America Act.
Dates to remember
You don't need Real ID to vote. Your state ID or license is sufficient at least for now. Here's a document outlining the ID requirements

Plenty of PA voters are realizing voting for the same old same old might not be the best approach.
"“More and more in the last decade or two, certainly the last decade, I have tended away from voting Republican. It used to be if I didn't know a candidate or didn't know either candidate well or couldn't decide between their policies, I'd just automatically vote for the Republican.
"Now, one of the reasons that I prefer to vote by mail is because I can get the ballot ahead of time, and I can go through and research every single candidate for every office, whether it's a judge, whether it's somebody in my local township."
You can also research before Election Day on Vote411.org or https://seventy.org/get-informed/voter-guide/interactive-voter-guide/
If they don't answer questions from non-partisan voters' guides, maybe they don't deserve our votes.

My family and I are going to the family cabin on Thursday and I’m hoping it’s not too early that barely any leaves have changed and it’s still just green everywhere. Last year we went up for my birthday early Nov, but it was too late and most of the leaves had fallen. I’m trying to find the proper in between TIA

We’ve always liked Hustons Haunted Hollow and Field of Screams. Miss the old Scarehouse in Etna. Excited to check out the Haunted Mine in Tarentum now that they re-opened it.
What are your favorite haunted houses?

Looks like the moon a little bit significantly smaller only slightly bigger than a star. Picture doesn’t help much. Through binocs it looks a little like a bifurcated light.
