No. Pneumonic plague attacks the lungs, and so more quickly than the bubonic plague attacks the lymphatic system. It’s a little alarming that she died, though. You would expect a researcher to be able to get immediate prophylactic antibiotics.

It’s in Russia, so the chance that someone sold off the real medicine and replaced it with a sugar pill is pretty high.
