Culture Traditional MAs and Craft

I visit my grandad every other year normally in Easter or Summer. I normally travel with family and we spend most of our time visiting relatives or going to the beach. I’ve been to most of the tourist spots, historical sites and markets.
I’m happy to travel around the island and I’d really like to do something craft related like a carnival costume workshop, jumbie stilt walking, kalenda, pan, anything practical. I can’t seem to find any contacts for this though and would love to connect with anyone willing to share their skills or knowledge.

Thanks

Aliens?

Has anyone experienced or seen ufos or anything they couldn't explained?

In the 1970s, Grenada's first PM Gairy, launched a campaign at the United Nations to demand research into UFOs and extraterrestrial life so im just wondering how often it was (or is) for it that to be an idea.

I’ve been to Grenada and Carriacou several times and spent a couple weeks in Grenada during August for Spicemas, but February 2027 will be my first time visiting Carriacou for Kayak Mas. If you have suggestions or tips for making the best of my time in Carriacou, please share them.

IMG doctor hoping to work in Grenada, is it possible?

Hi doctors of Grenada!

I’m currently studying medicine in Indonesia and will graduate in a couple of years. After that, I’ll complete my internship/clinical training and hopefully work as a GP in Indonesia for a while.

I visited Grenada during a holiday and honestly LOVED the country and the people. I connected with the place so much that I’ve seriously started considering whether I could eventually work there as an IMG.

I’m not expecting residency or specialization or anything as I’d actually be completely happy staying a GP long-term. I’m willing to work hard, including long hours, and I’d genuinely like the opportunity to contribute to the community while also learning from practicing medicine there.

For anyone familiar with the process:
1. Is it possible for an Indonesian-trained doctor to get registered and work in Grenada as a GP/general doctor?
2. How difficult is the registration process for IMGs?
3. Is there actually a reasonable number of opportunities for foreign-trained doctors?
4. Would prior GP experience in Indonesia help with getting a job?

Would really appreciate hearing from any Grenadian doctors or IMGs who know how this works!

Tourism One Day Trip - Must See

Hey,

We will sadly only be visiting Grenada, on a one day trip aboard Explora, we really like to see local produce and fund local economic activity so try to avoid "large" scale tours and non-local businesses.

We will have from around 10:00-18:00 ashore, a few questions below.

  • Would we be best renting a car? If so any recommendations?
  • What MUST we see in Grenada, I love chocolate so anything involving this would be great.
  • We also love just scenery and if there is any museums and a local spot for lunch.

Thanks in advance!

Research on Chinese vehicles and technical information in Grenada — looking for local experiences

Looking for Chinese EV owners, mechanics, and automotive teachers in Grenada — research help

Hi everyone,

I worked as a Chinese teacher at the Confucius Institute at T.A. Marryshow Community College (TAMCC) from August 2025 to August 2026, and during my time in Grenada I became very interested in the connection between Chinese language learning and vocational education.

I am now doing research on “Chinese + vocational skills,” especially Chinese electric vehicle repair in Grenada.

My goal is to eventually develop a small, practical set of bilingual learning materials that could help local mechanics, automotive students, teachers, and vehicle owners better understand and work with Chinese EVs.

One reason I became interested in this topic is that some Chinese vehicles enter Grenada through used or imported-vehicle channels. In some cases, the vehicle interface, warning messages, manuals, technical information, or online repair resources may still be mainly in Chinese. At the same time, local experience with Chinese EV repair and official after-sales support is still limited.

So I am especially interested in hearing from:

  • Chinese EV or hybrid owners in Grenada
  • Mechanics or people working in garages
  • Automotive teachers or students
  • People who have imported Chinese vehicles
  • Anyone who has had trouble understanding a vehicle warning, manual, repair video, software interface, parts information, or other technical information because of language

You do not need to know Chinese, and you do not need to be an EV expert.

If you have ever had a problem with an EV, a Chinese vehicle, or foreign-language vehicle information — or if you are simply interested in this topic — I would be very grateful if you could leave a comment or message me.

Even a short personal experience would be very helpful.

For example:

  • Have you seen or used a Chinese EV in Grenada?
  • Have you ever had trouble understanding something on the vehicle or in a manual?
  • If you could not understand the information, how did you solve the problem?
  • Did you use Google, YouTube, translation apps, AI, another mechanic, or someone overseas?

I hope this research can eventually produce something practical that may actually be useful in Grenada, rather than only becoming an academic paper.

Thank you very much, and I would really appreciate hearing your experiences.

Tourism November Honeymoon in Grenada?

Hello!
My fiance and I are having to change our honeymoon after the news that El Niño will make Peru an unsafe and uncomfortable place to be for out november honeymoon. We are starting in Costa Rica and are now looking a new destination to follow Costa Rica.

We loved the idea of Peru for its food, the ability to immerse into culture without it feeling touristy, the diversity, the nature, and the people.

I am an anthropologist and shes an artist, perhaps that gives you a bit of an understanding of what we are looking for.

Could Grenada be a good choice for us?

Citizenship by Registration

Hello everyone,

So basically I’m seeking advice on my citizenship application to Grenada - with all documents submitted it is taking more than a year in security clearance stage and my appointed agent doesn’t really do anything to follow up or expedite it.

Some details: my wife has a Grenadian passport by CBI and I applied on the grounds of marriage, the timeline I was given initially was 8-10 months and it’s past that by a lot. Throughout this year, there were no requests for clarification or extra documents, so I’ve been given regular updates that it’s “under security clearance” for the whole year.

From the application agency, they told me they had no cases that took so long.

My agent who submitted the file is not being helpful to say the least, and I assume there are ways to at least submit a request to expedite the application taking into consideration the unusual processing timeline but I am not sure how to get this case moving from my side.

Has anyone faced a similar situation? I would be really grateful for any input how can I do something about the frustrating application timeline.

I need to send documents to both Dominica and St. Lucia and DHL apparently only takes cash and I didn't happen to have $1200 EC in my pocket (what in the world with those prices). Am I good with a card for FedEx or is it also cash only?

Other Shein orders and customs.

Hi everyone,hope everyone is great.
I’m new to the island and wanted to know about shipping,i am trying to get some essentials i need from shein and wanted to know how everything goes there in regards to paying customs.
I’ve ordered from a company called plug tech before and managed to pay the customs on the website and never paid anything else again upon receiving my package.
If I decide to buy from shein or clothes and decor, would i have to pay additional costs even if i paid online and if i do how would i go about paying those customs and taxes
thank you in advance
