Hey y’all!
If you’re new here or looking for info, this is the place to stop and check before you post that question you’re thinking about asking - the answer may already be in our FAQ! There's also some recommendations in there for learning about lore.
I’d recommend also checking the New Player Question or Questionflairs to see if your question has been asked before. You can also type into whatever search engine you use:
[insert your question here] baldursgate3 reddit
Or
[insert your question here] bg3 reddit
That’ll help us prevent the subreddit from being cluttered with the same repeated questions.
If your question hasn't been asked (or asked recently enough) then use either one of the question flairs above and ask away.
BG3Builds and Multiclassing
For the people curious about builds or who want a more dedicated place to discuss them, there's r/BG3Builds. There's a good guide on multiclassing.

Character Planner Reminder: There is a Character Planner by GameFractal being worked on here (It's also in the sidebar on desktop or the 'See Community info' link on mobile).
It's a one person project, so updating it with the recent updates, adding what launch will bring, and some other useful features will take time - but it will be updated.

I went to the circus and put on the stupid makeup just out of curiosity, not knowing that shadowheart had plans that night for our relationship, and the makeup stayed on? She was undeterred? I couldn't stop laughing at this stupid fucking face being forced into the lovemaking cutscene I could barely breathe watching it. I guess she didn't care who I was until I put on the mask
I'm playing my second attempt of an honor road run and while clearing the goblin camp I decided to knock her out instead of killing her to see what happens.
By how the game acted I figured it thought I killed her and then when I saw her moonrise it thought I spared her in either didn't kill the goblins or destroy the Grove.
But it turns out she has specific dialogue for if you kill all the goblins knock her out then save her for moonrise and then let her be in your party till ac 3. This game deserves game of the year every year
Like the title says, I'm addicted Charisma Classes. I'm addicted to talking my way out of things, but as a result I struggle playing non-charismatic characters, even when I WANT to play as one, it just doesn't 'click' with me.
Does anyone else feel this way and if so, how did you manage to move past this if you have? I want to play a Bladesinger, for an Eilistraee build, but am hesitant.
So let me get this straight... My first discovery of Orin's disguise was when she turned herself into this marriage counseling soothsayer at the circus and me agreeing to her therapy eventually led to her knowing which one of my companions I've romanced and actually care about and then gortash warns me my camp has been compromised and one of my companions is gone.
With all this info the obvious conclusion would be that she kidnapped my romanced companion (Shadowheart at the time) and I'm scared shitless at this point... Idk what to do and it feels like a ticking time bomb and there is some genuinely crazy tension happening here. This is another incredible introduction to a villain and makes her possibly an even bigger threat than Ketheric.
WELL FUCK ALL THAT SHIT!!!!! Turns out she kidnapped Halsin... You know... THE COMPANION WITH THE LEAST APPROVAL RATING, THE ONE WITH NO CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT IN ACT 3 AND THE ONE WITH THE LEAST INTERESTING STORY!!!
Genuinely what happened man... Were Larian too afraid to put an actual complicated and tense situation for the player so they decided to just pussy out and do the bitch move... Like I understand Act 3 being rushed and having less dialogue but this would've been an easy slam dunk!!! All you had to do was kidnap the companion I care about the most Orin you dumb hot slut!!!!
I obviously didn't give a shit about Halsin and he wasn't worth me reloading the game to save with a deception roll so yeah whatever man get fucked I guess. This would've been the first time in the game where things would've gotten personal and raw but Larian pussied out of it and that is so disappointing.
So i'm relatively new to BG3, I've only really gotten to the start of act 3. I'm considering making a new playthrough, as most players do before the actually complete the game, and I have a question. Are you always the one receiving when it comes to sex? Because I don't want to make a 6'2 half-orc oathbreaker and then get topped by a vampire twink.
Not that there's anything wrong with getting topped by Astarion.
Hi so this is my first play through and I just beat the goblin camp but my older brother told me about the kid with the harpies so I went down there and it looks like I’m too late. Apparently he’s important to the future part of the game? will it be ok if I continue one without him or should I go to a save before the goblin camp and save him?
Baldurs Gate 3 has the absolute best music for nap time. Highly recommend going onto YouTube or whatever and just letting every track play in the background. My son loves it so much. Knocks him right out (but he’s an easy target due to low mobility stats and probably has low CON at this level)
I know that normally Florrick approaches us in the Lower City.
In this playthrough, I didn’t recruit Wyll, so he doesn’t exist in my game anymore.
I freed Florrick but now I’m walking around the Lower City and I have explored almost everything, yet I haven’t run into Florrick. I know she is usually around Sorcerous Sundries.
Is Wyll a requirement to get this quest?
I just want to do things in an RP way, and so far I haven’t had any clues pointing me toward Ansur.
will letting the emperor evolve me negatively impact me romancing lazel??? she’s my queen and the love of my life but i wanna evolve but don’t want her to be mad at me
I’m so proud of myself! I feel like I absolutely smoked all my enemies. This was my 5th full playthrough and it felt so good to get that achievement. Here’s my party and some highlights:
I played Origin Lae’zel as a champion fighter. As the game progressed, I found the ability to hit things consistently and multiple times in one turn had a huge impact in overall success in combat. Utilizing things like bloodlust potion, Killer’s Sweetheart, Surgeon’s Subjugation, and action surge made her truly live up to her “I am fury. I am DEATH!” Line.
Arcane trickster rogue Gale. Sneak attack is underrated, especially if the enemy is dazed or paralyzed… and utilizing crowd control spells when needed.
War cleric Wyll. Having a healer who can attack twice AND help allies have a better chance of hitting is amazing.
Shadow sorcerer Shadowheart. Crowd control spells FTW (thank you Banishment!) and shout out to Nimbus, the best boi. Scratch could never. Just keep your casters away from the action, people.
There were only a couple fights I had a tough time with, but upon readjusting my strategy, I found they were actually pretty easy. Myrkul was by far the most challenging. Did you know his bitch ass isn’t immune to Bone Chill? Fuck him and them necromites. Gortash was also a little rough because I didn’t really bother destroying/disarming all the traps. Shoulda figured that out sooner rather than later.
Overall I felt I had an extremely strong and coordinated party, even though I only respec’d the companions for fun and to change things up a little. I came prepared and I feel like I’m almost ready to attempt Honor Mode. Maybe one more tactician run and lean into the strategies that I used to win my battles. Anyways, just thought I’d share my triumph!
... I've ever done after hours of run-throughs: throwing the Iron Flask onto the Githyanki Patrol near Waukeen's Rest, watching the Spectator slaughter them, and cleaning up after. Fun times.
A fun little project I was working on for a few days. Set it all up without mods. If you have any questions I'd love to answer them. Most of the bosses were relocated using the kidnap glitch. Polymorph them -> then throw and cancel throw to move them.
Wawargaz had to be relocated using Polymorph Dominate beast. A ton of saving and reloading to build it all and test it, but hey it works.
Now yes, I know that Astarion = Little Star is more of a fan theory without a lot of solid backing, but I had to comment on the poetic beauty of it all.
