QUALITY CONTENT Landen Roupp
Non Giants fans here, but former classmate of Roupp, I’m talking the entirety of K-12, and I can confirm that he has always been a pos. We had a small graduating class of like 55 people and he was by far the biggest jerk of them all. just a bully to anyone that was different.
It’s ironic he talks so much of his faith in God because back then he was the least Christlike person. He probably didn’t even know that verse he wrote existed before the Pride night game. It’s frustrating to see he never matured and is still a fake and un accepting jerk.
Anyways sorry yall now have to deal with him.

QUALITY CONTENT A proud day at the ballpark
I’m a native San Franciscan, and my family just moved back home to the Bay after 20 years in LA. I of course raised my children to be Giants fans, over the confused objections of their preschool teachers. We moved our things in to our new house last week, and within a couple days we were on the ferry to what I still think of as Pac Bell Park, because my stepmother helped build it as an union apprentice electrician.
What I didn’t mention is that my older two children are transgender. They were so thrilled a few years ago to see Buster Posey and Brandon Belt in Pride colors, especially since the Giants wore the progress Pride flag, which includes the trans colors. Seeing Joc cheesing in the giveaway uni meant so much. We actually sent my mom to the Dugout store from Richmond to get us Pride gear.
Of course the protest on Pride night was particularly painful for our family. My middle kid plays sports, and I was so excited to have an example of my favorite team actively welcoming her. To have some of the player’s actively reject her was crushing.
I thought about boycotting the team forever, but it’s just too big a part of my life. I decided to buy cheap tickets on Stubhub, get my kids some hot dogs and try to use it as an opportunity to talk. About why a team brings the infield in and how the shift works. About my Godfather, who is a deacon at church and has been out since the mid-60s. About my Aunt, who is a lesbian and came to San Francisco because she wasn’t safe in her home on the East Coast. And broadly about why Pride is so important and the ways in which our family and the whole Pride community support each other.
Also Sam Hentges came in and we booed the shit out of him.

QUALITY CONTENT Lost the last game at Candlestick Park. Lost Barry Bonds' final game. Lost Matt Cain's final game. Lost the day Willie Mays died, and then lost the game the league created to honor him at Rickwood Field 2 days later. And we just had to lose this one on Kruk's final day too.

QUALITY CONTENT Meet the San Francisco Firebells - San Francisco's Women's Professional Baseball Team has a name and logo
The San Francisco Firebells.
All the names of these teams are tributes to pioneering women, and San Francisco's is a tribute to name we probably all know, but most of us may not know the story behind.
Lillie Hitchcock was a teenager in San Francisco's formative decade of the 1850's. At the age of 15 in 1858, she witnessed a fire on Telegraph Hill, and despite being a young woman, she helped the shorthanded Knickerbocker Engine Company #5 get up the hill to fight the fire, in an age when firefighting companies competed with others to get to a fire and get paid.
After this, Lillie became a "mascot" of sorts for the fire company, hanging out with the company and going on calls. Her (rich) family did not feel her behavior was befitting a young woman, and sent her to live in Europe, but when she returns in 1863 as a 20-year old, she went right back to supporting the engine company and challenging gender norms in the city as an avid partier, drinker, and gambler.
She eventually married a man named Howard Coit, taking his name, but later divorcing him in 1880.
While Lillie's life eventually took her away from San Francisco, she loved the city before she passed in 1929. She left the city a third of her sizable estate that was "to be expended in an appropriate manner for the purpose of adding to the beauty of the city which I have always loved". Among other things, the majority of the bequest was used to build Coit Tower on top of Telegraph Hill, as well as the statue dedicated to volunteer firefighters in Washington Square Park.
For a city that had several major fires in the 19th century that destroyed much of the then-city, and of course was forever scarred and changed from the earthquake and fire of 1906, I love this name and this logo. It's fitting for the city, and a great tribute to Lillie!
All the WPBL games will be played this season in Springfield Illinois, so we won't get to see them in person this season, but I hope the league continues on and gets to play in their home cities.

QUALITY CONTENT Attended about 50 pro baseball games this season but here are 20 beers at 20 different Giants games
Watching this team sober wouldn’t have been easy, but made the best of the 2026 Giants with overpriced beers at the best ballpark in the majors along with a handful of the others.

QUALITY CONTENT On This Day in Sports History June 25, 2014, Tim Lincecum threw his second career no-hitter
On this day in sports history, June 25, 2014, Tim Lincecum tossed the second no-hitter of his career, shutting down the Padres in a 4-0 Giants victory.
Remarkably, both of Lincecum’s no-hitters came against San Diego, as he had also no-hit the Padres on July 13, 2013.
By doing so, Lincecum became just the second pitcher in MLB history to throw two no-hitters against the same franchise, joining Hall of Famer Addie Joss, who accomplished the feat against the White Sox in 1908 and 1910.

I'm literally on my knees begging. Let us sign off Kruk's final game in the booth with a fucking W. It's the least he deserves. Please don't damper the farewell and postgame ceremony with a loss.

QUALITY CONTENT [Baggarly] Giants doomed at Dodger Stadium by another disastrous dugout decision
LOS ANGELES — There are infinite ways to explain why San Francisco Giants manager Tony Vitello did what he did in the fifth inning of a tied game Saturday night at Dodger Stadium.
There are infinite ways to explain why Vitello made a conscious decision to summon left-hander Philip Abner one day after the waiver-claimed reliever became the first Giants pitcher in a quarter-century to allow four home runs in one inning.
Maybe all the other Giants relief pitchers accidentally locked themselves in the bathroom.
Maybe the voice on the bullpen phone said “anyone but Abner” and the first two words cut out.
Maybe the Giants, just for kicks, decided to use relievers in alphabetical order. (David Aardsma was not available, sadly.)
Maybe Vitello had short-term memory loss because his head bonked the same low doorway at the team hotel that put 6-foot-7 first baseman Bryce Eldridge out of commission for this series.
