We have socialist polices in America. Roads, police, sewers, Medicare, Medicaid, firefighters. All socialist. The Nordic countries which enjoy the highest quality of life are even moreso because the state makes sure people have access to free healthcare and education, and good welfare if anything goes wrong. And things are less likely to go wrong if you have the aforementioned free healthcare and education

Exactly none of these things are socialist

social programs =/= socialism

Those are not socialist policies. They have nothing to do with the means of production. Nordic countries are decidedly capitalist. Social programs have very little to do with the ideas of Marx and Engels, and in fact arise from Protestant ideals in the nordic countries.

No, those things are not socialist, and no, we are capitalist.

Also, neither our healthcare, education or welfare is free. We pay a lot of money for it, through taxes.

Taxes which we pay on the money we make by producing goods and services that we trade on the global market.

Kind regards, a person from Scandinavia.
