wow. See I didn’t feel like I had any choices. I grew up poor and felt I had to fill the void. True feminism isn’t about men having shit choices, it’s about women being empowered to having the kind of life that they’ve earned. It’s not some Charlie Kirk BS turned on its head, but rooted in fairness and empowerment. If I were a woman, you bet I would be a feminist. But a true partnership doesn’t mean someone gets screwed.
I already said that. I am a feminist. I said if I were a woman, I’d be a feminist. Honestly I have a hard time respecting anyone who doesn’t stand up for themselves.
I do not agree. Look at the recent events at Cornell. Women must stand up for women. And men must stand up for women. If you are not willing to fight for those you love it was never love to begin with.
This doesn’t mean men should be doormats. But my marital issues are to be fair a first-world problem. It is unfair to lack choices if you are a decent man, but when I look at how women are treated everywhere it enrages me. It is a sickness in the culture, and frankly almost ALL cultures. I even see women denigrate women, all the time. I believe that how women are treated tells you all need to know about the quality of a culture.
Always choose to do right and be kind. If you can’t respect those you love, you respect no one at all.
Cornell is shaping up to be very similar to the Duke lacrosse situation, so I wouldn’t hold that as an argument just yet. Feminism is no longer about supporting women.
If a true partnership means both parents work then both have life harder. Who's staying off when a kid's ill? If one stays home it CAN work very well but the working partner has to remember their life is a lot easier than it could be. We relapse into entitlement. If the woman stays home for years and then there's a divorce her pension is awful. Can be swings and roundabouts or disastrous.
