You should round up your wife and children and take them to the hospital when the nurses shift let's out. Wait until you see the 40 plus year old nurses staggering out the doors exhausted, desperate for that first cigarette.
There’s a reason nurses are one of the occupations with the highest prevalence of alcoholism. It can be an extremely stressful and draining job. If this woman couldn’t handle laundry and cooking, she had no business becoming a nurse.
Nurses also get to clock out at the end of the day. SAHMs don't.
I've done 60 hour weeks where I was doing physically laborious work outdoors in difficult conditions (high elevation, weather, etc.) Frankly that seems preferable to me over the 24/7 mind numbing drudgery of caring for young children and perpetual chores, being stuck inside a house all day.
As if making it to nursing school and work at forty is ideal.
People think it’s an easy job but it isn’t. I’d wager it’s just as rough no matter what job path taken (minimum wage to higher pay).
