Hello all. We would like to add some clarifications to what is and isn't allowed on yard sale Sundays. We want to save everyone time, so please read carefully and ask any clarifying questions below so we can clear them up for everyone.
Every week on Sunday, users may post promotional content including (but not necessarily limited to):
Posts that are not permitted:
When buying or selling, even and especially digital items, arrange to meet on campus or another safe place. Don't get scammed.
Please note all posts are subject to removal per moderator discretion. Posts are considered advertisement even if they are not direct advertisement (discord servers which offer such services on the side, free trials, etc)
Please ensure you use the correct flair when posting (Yard Sale Sundays). Any threads of a promotional nature posted other than Sunday will be removed and you will be instructed to repost when appropriate.
*Reselling for a profit is strictly prohibited
**Applications which are directly relevant to McMaster may receive exception at moderator discretion, provided they are free to use, generally helpful, and collect no personal information.
***McMasters agreement with HSR prohibits exchange of HSR vouchers. As such, we cannot condone trading as there is nothing preventing these codes from being voided at a later date.
Thank you.

We are once more seeing an uptick of admissions-related questions for 2026. Please post any admissions/ program related questions in this megathread and engage with other questions in here.
Standalone posts asking admissions questions will be removed and the OP will be asked to search and post within this thread and the prior 2025 Admission Megathread.

I don’t know what to do I’m struggling with school so much I legit had a breakdown so many times today and after taking that Econ mid term i had such low confidence in myself and everytime I do my work I have this anxious feeling that I’m not actually learning anything and ima fail all my courses. I’m in business bro I can’t be struggling that much compared to other people cuz they have it harder than me. I don’t even deserve to be here if I’m already complaining this much I swear there is so much people that are way smarter than me who deserve to be here more than me. I’ll just let everyone down and ima be homeless forever in the future.

My current obsessions are:
Interview with the vampire (show)
Adults
Heathers (I'm a beginner to muscials, please help)
I can't think of any more now, but I love consuming media in general
I love reading and drawing too. It's my 4th year here, but I haven't been able to freely yap and be myself? I guess I'm worried about being judged, and that led me to not really open up. It's even more awkward, as I'm a lot older 😭

Maybe I’m overthinking this, but I needed somewhere to vent or I’ll probably think about it all night lol.
My two roommates knew each other before me and lived together in residence, so they’re naturally closer. We all lived together with other girls before, and they told me they liked me and considered me a friend, so the three of us eventually moved into an apartment together.
I’m pretty quiet, clean, and friendly, but I don’t feel like I have much in common with them. They both love Phoebe Bridgers and recently went to her concert together, and tonight they were laughing and talking about it while I wasn’t really part of the conversation. I ended up going to my room and felt weirdly sad and jealous hearing them having fun together.
I know they’re allowed to be closer and nobody owes me friendship. I just realized that I actually want to be friends with them too.
I’m also a chronic apologizer and pretty non-confrontational, so asking “do you guys actually like me?” feels insanely awkward 😭
Am I just insecure because I’m the third person in an already-established friendship, or is this something other people have experienced with roommates?
TL;DR: My two roommates were already close before we lived together, and even though they’ve said they see me as a friend, I sometimes feel like the odd one out. I know they don’t owe me friendship, but hearing them laugh and bond over things they have in common made me realize I’m sad that I don’t feel as close to them.

hello lovelies! currently training for a fight in november (my first one so i am a beginner!) and i was wondering if there were any girls who box at mac (i'm also okay with guys but keep in mind i'm 5'2). as of now at my gym i have been sparring with guys but the height difference and training experience has been a big learning curve for me (though i do think it is helpful in ways). if there's any girlies or people in general who would like to spar or just practice (currently trying to shadow box outside the gym without feeling silly), pls pm me! i love a good evening gym sesh but down for the mornings too!

It's embarrassing to admit but when it comes to school I just opt for doing anything besides homework or studying, whether that's picking up an extra shift at work or just wasting time at home. It's only been about a month into my second year but I find it difficult to actually wanting to do well and I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to getting my degree. It feels like a bottomless pit with no way out. What motivates you people? Why can't I grasp the concept of wanting to finish something?

Saw one at the waffle stand this morning, little thing scampered away before I could get a picture of it. Looked like a german cockroach.
Thought about kicking the stand to see if more would come out.
😔 Extra protein I guess.

Hi, currently a senior in HS and am incredibly interested in Art-Sci, I love science and the arts (literature, creatiev writing) so It seems like the perfect fit. Just wondering if anyone who took this program knows if it is a good route to go into education (specifically teaching HS or higher levels of education)? I was looking online but not getting specifics about applying to teaching programs with an Art-Sci Degree.
Thanks!

I submitted my assignment at 11:59 PM due to a file corruption issue. I had initially submitted it around 10:00 PM on the discussion board as instructed by the TAs and they said to only submit it in the discussion board but later noticed a dedicated dropbox and re-uploaded it there. Given this situation, should I explain the problem to my professor?

I have my first midterm on Tuesday and it’s worth 20% of my final mark. I am not ready at all as a first year I got really caught up with going out and partying and now I know if I take this midterm I’ll most likely do rlly bad even though I’ve been studying the past few days I won’t have enough time to catch up on the modules being tested. I am thinking of using an msaf then using reading week to catch up on my classes and start prioritizing my schooling once we’re back. I feel so guilty about this like I’m the only person going through it and especially since I’m going to use an msaf for something so dumb and completely my fault. Any advice for the rest of the semester 🥲?

Hello, Im currently in second year in the Mol bio and genetics core program and im having a crisis. Im realizing biology majors dont normally get paid a lot after graduation and have a lot of trouble finding jobs without going to a graduate/ professional school after (which are all extremely competitive to get into). Do you think it’s worth it for me to switch to math and stats and maybe pre-sue a minor in biology instead.

Does anyone else’s McMaster unofficial transcript only show their first and last name, without their middle name?
My middle name is on my student record, but it doesn’t appear on the unofficial transcript. Is this normal?
If anyone can check theirs and let me know whether their middle name shows up, I’d appreciate it.

I wish I could live without depression and anxiety, I wish I could fix it and I feel like I’m missing out so much of what life could be or what it actually looks like. I can never tell anyone what I feel in real life because it feels too much to talk about or I feel attention seeking since I’m so high functioning and normal. I’m anxious about every aspect of everything it’s not only social anxiety. I would hate to live the rest of my life suffering with depression. I feel okay and much like myself when I drink but I am not reliant on it at all. I’ve felt like this since I was a kid idk just a rant in case anyone else feels alone

I feel so depressed I can’t believe she left me today. It hurts so bad since we were suppose to celebrate together for national bf today. She called me a broke loser I feel like I’m going to take the semester off I have no motivation left in me. I just feel like crippling down
