I was so sure they were about to have their first & last kiss in this scene :/

love Emma D'Arcy but please by the Old Gods and the New.

Painting of both versions of Nyra we got in the show

One of the only flaws I find with HOTD show is the lack of emotional scenes specially romantic ones.

I think that if they made more romantic scenes between Jacaerys and Baela we would have grieved Jace even more from her perspective, but there's barelly no evidence they're even a couple in S2. They only talk about his insecurities being a bastard, so there's literally no chemistry and a serious lack of touch and humanity.

What are your thoughs? Is there any justification for the lack of this types of scenes?

The Battle of the Gullet is reportedly set to become the biggest action sequence ever attempted in House of the Dragon, with the massive naval battle said to run nearly 25 minutes on screen. Multiple insiders and production reports suggest HBO has been treating the episode like a feature film because of its enormous scale, heavy visual effects work, and complex dragon combat.

For fans of George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, the battle is one of the most important and tragic events of the Dance of the Dragons. The conflict features the Velaryon fleet facing off against the Triarchy in a brutal sea war that changes the course of the civil war forever.

The sequence was originally expected to appear in Season 2, but HBO reportedly pushed it to Season 3 due to budget and production demands. Filming involved large water tank sets, extensive stunt coordination, and months of post-production work.

If adapted faithfully, this could become the defining battle of the entire series.

#Gameofthrone

Episode 6 was the first episode where i started really hating Rhaenyras choices and decisions that she was making as Queen and just from her character. I will say from Eps 1-4 i was on her side with Ep 5 being where i started teetering a bit with some hope she’d get it together.

But i liked the fact that i started to hate her character a bit based on her choices. we’re finally starting to see that Rhaenyra the Cruel we’ve been missing that’s in the books even if it’s just a little. It’s funny because i’m still on her side and hoping for the best outcome for her but i know that it won’t be case since ive read Fire & Blood a few times.

But the show and book are such different entities that idk what to expect each episode now. Also the little things like Rhaenyra never sitting straight on the throne ever even back in Ep 3, her crown in this episode was crooked and not sitting straight on her head at all, and the icing on the cake was the Throne cutting her finger.

Alicent was right, Viserys was right, the crown will crush those who wear it and it’s crushing Rhaenyra and i’m so excited to see that more in the next two episodes.

Last thing! The ending of this episode made me really miss season 2 Rhaenyra which in my head is more “Revolutionary Queen Rhaenyra” to get her birthright compared to active ruling season 3 Rhaenyra.

I know it’s a tired problem at this point and it’s the new standard for almost every show but this is bullshit

if so, can I ask what team you're on and who it is that you support on the opposite side, as well as why?

for me it's (show)alicent because I feel that she's a severely misunderstood character with a lot of depth. she's morally grey, which women are not often written to be, and I really enjoy that!

i'd also be lying if i said i didn't she's extremely stunning, and I find Olivia Cooke to be so incredibly talented (really getting into Ryan's bag here).

quick edit: the post needed a flair and my being team black, or even liking alicent are both really a thing of sunk-cost fallacy and heavily enjoying both team black and alicent's earlier moments (season 1- lateish season 2) atp. just a fun post of sorts really to see how everyone else has grown soft spots for any of the other characters!

feel free to also list any members of your own team that you dislike! I personally dislike mysaria :')
