Moderator Post Moderator note: report abuse and political topics

On Reddit, report abuse is when users report posts or comments as breaking Reddit rules or sub rules when they do not.

For example, someone stating their political opinion about a political party is not a death threat. Stating an opinion in a way that shares a personal view without inventing facts or spreading falsehoods is not misinformation.

Reporting political comments as rules breaking means that moderators have to review comments and approve them.

Moderators can report your accounts for report abuse. These reports can decrease your Contributor Quality Score on Reddit, which can lead to shadow bans, content being removed from this and other subs automatically, or even being prevented from commenting in some subs due to low CQS scores.

Please do not report comments and posts because you don't agree with them politically.

Discussion 38 Ridings to vote how you like

Post image
284 Upvotes

I've seen too many threads where there are concerns over splitting the vote.
That's a real thing, but it's very location dependent.
If you are in a coloured riding, you don't have much to worry about.

  • Orange: NDP safe - show who you support
  • Blue: Con safe - show who you support
  • Green: Green likely - show who you support
  • Pink: 3-way Battleground - show who you support
  • Grey: NDP/Con Battleground - Vote accordingly

This is all taken from 338 data

Discussion Albertans who moved to BC recently was the grass actually greener?

Considering a move from Edmonton to Southern/Interior BC. Has anyone here moved from Alberta within the last five years? How’s it going, and would you do it again?

I was born and raised in Alberta, but the political direction and growing division with the rest of Canada are a big part of why I’m considering leaving. Some of my friends have already moved or transferred with their companies, and most of the people in my profession are actively looking for the same opportunities in BC.

I know BC has its own problems, so I’m curious whether the grass is actually greener or if I’d just be jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Discussion BC election

I know it seems silly to vote Green Party since they never win but I’m super inclined. Like first Gen Z representation in a position of power and proportional representation? Like our votes would actually matter for once. I think overall their policies for once seem reasonable/doable, especially compared to other parties.

Who are you voting for?

Ask British Columbia Anyone here passed the AScT Architectural Technology exam?

• Upvotes

Hi everyone, I’m preparing for the ASTTBC AScT Architectural Technology exam and would really appreciate some advice from anyone who has taken it recently.

A few questions:

Are there any good sample or practice questions?

How did you prepare for the exam?

Did you study all the books/references listed by ASTTBC, or did you focus on certain ones?

Are there any topics that you think are especially important?

Any study tips or resources you would recommend?

I’m not looking for actual confidential exam questions, just trying to understand how to prepare effectively.

Thanks!

Discussion From Dual Immersion to just English or French school?

Hi, we're a French Canadian family currently living in Los Angeles and about to move to Vancouver.
Our daughter's first language is French and she is now a fluent speaker as she started to learn English in K (at Richland Elementary) when we arrived in LA.
Now I'm wondering which way to go specially as we'd like her to continue progressing in English:

  • Stay in a dual immersion program
  • Go in a CSF school
  • Go in an English school + French tutoring

I'm looking for advice from people that had a similar or close situation.

Thanks you!

Discussion Why was the audio leak from the BC Conservatives Director of Operations not widely reported on?

I find the fact that this person held such a high position in the party demonstrates at the very least terrible judgement by the party and is important information for voters.

Here's the transcript of the Apollo Chung audio:

Transcript of Released Audio

I don’t walk away from money. We have the leader in our hands. I’m not walking away. Minimum, I want half a million dollars for me.

I can’t do it—this—like, I can’t do it now as a punisher, right? I can’t do it with Chris Delaney there, right? We need to basically force all of them to make a fundraiser for us, and so we can steal everything.
Like, whenever we win something, we just go in there and just punish it, take shit. What do we give a shit? It’s ours to take, you know what I mean, because we’re the winners, right? That’s the objective, right? To monetize this whole thing.

It’s about basically, like, going into their—going into their place and just stealing shit nonstop. Like, I used to do this all the time with the leader, you know, and that’s why I keep looking at it and going, like, how do I monetize it, how do I monetize it, right?

And I don’t want people to interfere with it.
The only differences from the Conservatives and the NDP is: the Conservatives, they—I don’t know what the f*** is wrong with the—with the underlings. Their weird fucking white people are, like, crazy, you know what I mean, like—[skip in audio; inaudible] (care for these?)—like, like, what’s the most important thing is to get government.

That’s all I keep telling everybody: once you get government, who cares? I don’t care about, like, saving the province and all that shit. Like, saving the province is only secondary to what the main prize is.
The main prize right now is to get government. Once we get government, you can do what the fuck you want.

[Skip in audio.]
You have four years, and then do what the fuck you want. Four years, you know, because if you don’t do it right the first year, then try again next year, and the next year doesn’t work, then try again in the third year and fourth—uh—fourth year, and just, just do it whenever [inaudible], and that’s it.

So that’s all we have to do, you know what I mean?
Look, you know, if you start off with saying stupid shit or believing stupid shit, right, then it’s, it’s weird, it’s weird, right?

Like, I know he, like—I know he’s misogynistic. That I know for sure. That I know. Like, really misogynistic—not the funny type of misogynistic, but the real type of misogynistic.

So, like, one time— that shouldn’t be in politics—one time, if I remember, he told me that, then I’m just like, what the fuck is this shit.
