MY-TH, DATT and RID user flairs should be added by today!

I'm really starting to get convinced that this is a multiverse story. That flashback really sells it. The RideXEggs are a big clue. Why does Sora have access to different animals? Because those are the Zodiacs in his universe. That Myth Driver is Yuna's, and is THE supposed Cat Zodiac inheritor of this universe. Asao is possibly a cat of his own universe. The member animals of the Zyunishi Doumei could be any combination of the 24 animals that will fill the 12. There could be a Cat-Kirin-Eagle-Rabbit-etc-combo universe out there, and the current roster of the Zyunishi Doumei came from that one. Mao's driver could also be a hint. He is the one person with it and a unique RideXEgg. That man has literally conquered multiple universes using it.

I love how Arakawa doesn't follow the toku trend of pulling random objects out of their ass. They clearly show how My-Th summons his weapons and how they're actually keeping the Ride X-eggs. Now we just need to know how Asao hides his driver

u/AD720fps 3d ago

I think it's interesting that the audience POV is more aligned with Tatsuomi than with Sora. I feel like we know what Tatsuomi knows, but not what Sora knows. Like many others, I suspect Sora already knows Tatsuomi is Rid, but I don't *know* that like I know what's going on with Tatsuomi.

I liked that this episode was mostly from Yuna's POV. I'm really hoping she stays an important character.

4

u/RadioRavenRide 3d ago

Tatsunomi is kind of a viewpoint secondary like Keiwa if not for the fact that the Zyushi Domei are also mysterious.

3

u/-_ShadowSJG-_ 4d ago

sora ngl has no reaction to the others and its odd

5

u/Presenting_UwU 5d ago

It's more or less confirmed at this point, Sora's "Uncle" is definitely the Black My-th from 100 years ago, based on the way he spoke to Yuna, how he referred to her as "The hope of humanity", like this basically just confirms that Yuna was the kind of evolution that Kamuri destroyed 100 years ago, and the kind of evolution that Black My-th considered humanity's hope.

hope for what? against the Fukashigi? man this is actually so exciting, no doubt Kamuri will try to go after Yuna once he fully realizes what she is.

Mention of classical instruments and electromagnetics? That got my inner violinist and engineer intrigued (I was a robotics engineer at my last job and I play violin), although I admittedly haven't heard of the floating light bulb before.

Seeing Sora with that electronic equipment made me wonder "What can't he do?".

Grown adult walking in on two kids at that timing in the flashback looks hella sus out of context.

Also, that Faiz reference with the heart too.

u/greenyoshi73 5d ago

Ngl, didn’t expect to follow up Shirakura being a cheese maker with Jun Hikasa being one. I really want this gag to continue.

5

u/Varukarudo 5d ago

Confusing flashback, it's looks like we are missing something so need to wait some time to see full picture.

And no Zodiacs this episode (except main one)… Where is Datt?!!

12

u/BusouDrago 5d ago

Yuna POV and Sora POV.

Yuna using the MYth driver

3

u/KamenRider_Garren 5d ago

This episode... Is so peak... ✋😢 ✋

Classic Tom and Jerry shenanigans...

And like poor Classic Tom, poor Tatsuomi "Tom" Rid got that Classic Tom "L".

Catching those "Ls" just like every Tom episode.

Meanwhile Sora "Jerry" My-th stealing those "Ws" while playing Tom Rid like a fiddle, just like their Classic Counterparts. 😭

Man I look forward to the next episodes. So excited~!

Lowkey, would hopefully see some creative edits of reanimating Tom and Jerry in place of Tatsuomi and Sora for every episode, if there was a creative artist/animator or whoever creative content creator would able to execute the idea.

u/Vavavavaxon7 Lopo 5d ago

I deadass thought that Dream Maze was about to play in that flashback at the start. I have no idea wtf is going on there and it's super intriguing. We see Yuna's hand grab the driver, then Sora grab it in the same way from the same spot. Then hobo gramps shows up and talks to them like he's known them forever? Did perhaps Yuna become My-th first, then some time travel shenanigans happened and Sora became My-th in the new timeline? Like wtf is going on here?

Yuna got absolutely cakemogged by that child. I like how she always looks like a total weirdo in public when giving Sora permission to transform. Every member of this cast is so likable and interesting. Sora's reaction to that cheese was the highlight of the entire show so far. I love him so much.

Good fight this episode. Wolf frame (peak design btw) becoming more powerful under the full moon was a cool touch and that exchange under the stairs reminded me of why I loved Gavv's action so much. They really used the environment in creative ways. That kill steal was diabolical too. My-th and Rid have my favourite primary/secondary dynamic in a while. I might be growing to like them more than Shoma and Hanto but it remains to be seen.

Next time it sounds like we'll be getting more info on exactly what's up with Yuna needing the eggs, plus two new riders. Major hype. I'm really liking where this show is going, but I said that about Zeztz and grew to hate it so I won't speak too soon.

u/akils11194 5d ago

calling it now sora's master is one of the zodiac rider, might be mouse ally back then and outcast by the rest like mouse

3

u/BusouDrago 5d ago

Sora ftom.a different timeline. Changing the event

3

u/MildlyAgitatedBidoof 2d ago

99% of rider theories fizzle out just before the mysterious figure turns out to be a future version of the protag

8

u/Minimallycheese 5d ago edited 5d ago

If there was a second outcast zodiac, I feel like they’d mention it.

They’ve been pretty singular about My-th being the traitor. The one that got away. The power they lost.

I suppose they could have retained the animal power and found a new user, unlike with the mouse… but still, I think a second traitor would be brought up anyway.

And would an outcast even be able to access whatever suspended animation method the alliance used to come to the 21st century?

14

u/RadioRavenRide 6d ago

Yeah Sora has to know that Tatsunomi is Rid, right?

5

u/mischievous-miltank 5d ago

Right? He comes off as to resourceful and clever not to catch on immediately

17

u/MKDremareRiser 6d ago

I'm rewatching the episode, and I noticed something from the flashback at the beginning. When the debris hit the car, it went through the windshield. Meaning that it should've also hit Sora, which we can clearly see happen since his side of the windshield was broken, too. Yet we see that he's fine enough to transform into My-Th for the first time to protect Yuna. And there's that glitching bit with Yuna's hand being replaced with Sora's hand.

So my theory for now is that Sora actually died too, but was saved by Yuna's powers.

18

u/Minimallycheese 5d ago

I think Yuna was the intended My-th, but transferred whatever supernatural essence she had to save Sora, and that’s why she needs Seed eggs to live.

13

u/entertainmentlord My-Th! 6d ago

first of all. I relate to Sora way to much because like him, I love cheese deeply

2nd, Something in the opening I really like is how as Sora is riding the bike down the path, behind him scenes of the episode start playing, it catches the eye and makes you wonder how important they are

I did not expect to get that detailed of a flash back this early one! It really makes you feel sorry for Yuna and Sora, but fact Sora was able to henshin way back then is really interesting But I am starting to wonder something, we know he needs Yuna to tell him to henshin, what if Yuna was supposed to be the actual My-Th but for whatever reason during this event she can only tell him to become a mouse?

The uncle saying Yuna is humanity's Hope, totally not a ton of pressure to put on someone who just lost their parents! Hint this is sarcastic

The strategy used to defeat the monster really helps make the fights more complex

Wolf Frame is really interesting in that it seems be a very limited power, the muzzle detail is a nice touch and full moon aspect could lead to some interesting moments

I love the actions, I know I've said it already but Sora really reminds me of Spider Man in his fighting style, which makes me want a Kamen Rider My-Th game

Sora using trickery to make things easier to deal with and get Asao to do all the hard work is really great to make him different from the typical hero, he fits more into the trickster archetype then the typical hero we see

We learn normally when the monsters are defeated the people don't come back, but somehow Sora defeating them brings the people back. When this is brought up to Kamuri he doesn't really show shock and dismisses it. I feel like he knows something

8 stars

5

u/SilverFirePrime 5d ago

Sora really reminds me of Spider Man in his fighting style

Not just physically, but psychologically as well. I was wondering why I was enjoying the fights so much, and I finally made the connection last night

8

u/AnoResu 6d ago

I could be way off base, but I’ve been thinking about it since the opening dropped and this episode seemed to be leaning in this direction. Could they be doing a split timeline story? one timeline where Otosumi saves Yuna, and another where it’s Asao who saves her. At the end of the opening too where they’re riding on the bike, a branching pattern forms behind them. This ‘split’ between two realities could also somehow explain how each ride-egg has two versions. Oh now I’m seeing the irony, ‘splitting’ in two like an egg. There are an insane amount of questions in these first 4 episodes!!

4

u/KamenRider_Garren 5d ago

Wait... You are onto something... I think this theory also works, if only it applies to the special Zodiac Ride Eggs. There being duplicates.

And then there is the swapping scene in the opening.

I think that in one timeline, Yuna did became My-th, but at the cost of Otosumi Sora, and then that version of her was part of the Zodiacs. That timeline is the dark timeline, where every Zodiac Riders have "died" and their Ride Eggs somehow came to the Timeline we currently watching.

Anyways, I think that version of Yuna is close to Rid/Tatsuomi, since you know, Otosumi Sora was dead in that timeline.

Maybe that was the case, or... Could be a plot in the upcoming My-th movie, kinda like Ryuki, Kabuto, or Gotchard, who knows?

7

u/kietvn21saber210 Build 6d ago

Rid be like: ONORE MY-TH

12

u/whitehowl 6d ago

I'm surprised nobody has pointed this out but the person who originally took hold of the My-Th driver from the car was Yuna's mom, which may implies that she was the previous user of My-Th.

Also for people who think this is Yuna - Yuna's mother was wearing a lavender blouse with the white sweater in the flashback

1

u/SnooStories4329 Majade 5d ago

I thought it was at first too but we see her body in the background, she never takes off the sweater so this is Yuna.

This scene seems to be implying Yuna was the next in line to be My-Th but right before she could pick it up, it’s interrupted by the reality of Sora grabbing it since Yuna was too in shock and crying

7

u/Minimallycheese 5d ago edited 5d ago

No, that was definitely Yuna’s sleeve. I’m pretty sure her mother is still eating wearing the sweater when you see her body later in the scene.

8

u/RivetSquid Ouja 6d ago

That's the way I interpreted it, the mother survived the crash, got killed fighting the monster, Yuna should have been the next user but she was young and scared so she authorized Sora to defeat it in her stead and must continue to give him transformation permission aloud.

I wonder if we'll get to see her step up to bat at some point before the show ends, if just for an episode.

2

u/MishouMai 6d ago

Okay so I definitely prefer the design of Wolf Frame to Turtle Frame though I do hope we get more than just frames going forward. I'm a little surprised that Ototsumi isn't trying to hide his identity from Tatsuomi, though I suppose it doesn't really matter. I think someone lastweek called there being two monsters? Really solid showing of Ototsumi's smarts this episode. Looking forward to the next!

9

u/Just_rat_things 6d ago

Tatsuomi already knew that Ototsumi was My-th after episode 1. He henshined in from of Tatuomi

1

u/MishouMai 6d ago

I'm aware but does Ototsumu know Tatsuomi is the same guy he rescued in episode 1? I don't remember if that's been she or not. That's why I was surprised he wasn't keeping it a secret.

2

u/omegamanxntn1611 6d ago

He knows, at the end of the first ep when Tatsumoi came to Yuna's house for the first time Otosumi already recognized him.

8

u/Electrical_Leek23 6d ago

Im loving this show so much. The gaming of Rid and Yuna to make it out with all the eggs? Now thats a meister alright.

12

u/Crowburst953 Double 6d ago

Interesting mechanic to have Wolf only come out during when the moon is out.

15

u/Frontier246 6d ago

So we see at least 60-70% of what happened to Yuna and Sora's parents. Sora was a pretty surly kid compared to his strict father, the original Ototsumi, but then a Fukashigi seemingly attacked, killed their parents, and Yuna "activated" and let Sora transform for the first time to defeat it. Then Pops showed up (and it seemed like he fought the Fukashigi too?) and told them, especially Yuna, that this was their destiny and Yuna must live a path of righteousness in honor of her family.

"Myth-adventures!" - Title puns are BACK!

Just want to point out we haven't seen the bike since episode 1.

Fukashigi's may be predatory monsters that hunt humans, but they DO have hearts (or is that what the X-Eggs constitute for them?).

Lot of cool tech from this episode, letting Sora show off his Meiser skills and also a magnetic light bulb that clues Yuna into what's really going on.

See, cats and mice CAN work together! Somewhat begrudgingly, but still! Even do visual aids! I bet Tatsuomi LOVED punching Sora!

Obviously she has no reason to be a professional patisserie but Yuna is literally getting outshined by a child.

Is that the Sheep X-Egg? No, it's the Egg that gives us Kamen Rider My-Th Wolf Frame! With razor-sharp arms like a wolfs' claws and a jaw that can chew through anything! Though the form seems kind of situational that My-Th can seemingly only use it at its full potential provided there's a full moon out.

Does it count as the 1st Main/Secondary team-up if they're essentially fighting their own battles and stepping on each others' toes even though they are, technically, fighting in-tandem?

Does it count as a Double Rider Kick if Rid never hit anyone and My-Th basically swindled him so he could take out both Fukashigi and get all their X-Eggs? It would've been surreal to see a Primary just give up the Finisher to the Secondary.

We got our first Princess Carry! This show knows its audience!

(Also the next episode preview basically confirms that Yuna needs the X-Eggs)

What was the Fukashigi doing with the humans? Giving it the knowledge it needed to be able to use the power lines to project itself? Also, humans aren't supposed to come back after the Fukashigi is destroyed? It only happens when My-Th defeats them? So, hypothetically, any humans consumed by a Fukishigi are dead for good if the Zodiac Riders destroy the Fukashigi? And Kamuri doesn't give a hoot.

So all the Zyunishi Doumei are graded by Kamuri on their performance?

Sora is stuck with Tatsuomi whether he wants him or not now that he's the Society of Fukashigi Investigators' advisor.

Next week: Kamen Rider Vanken and Kamen Rider Jyao!

5

u/RivetSquid Ouja 6d ago

Interesting that Tatsuomi, a junior member but still a member, didn't seem realize saving the human was an option.

8

u/megazaprat :39-Gavv:Gavv 6d ago

have to wonder if there is some reason the mentor guy isnt fighting instead of Otosumi? maybe there is some special reason only Otosumi can transform?

Also, so the Inexplicable victims coming back is something that only happens when Myth defeats them. Combined with them having to have an extra tool, and their forms being more jagged, kind of thinking that its the zodiac alliance who are the pretenders to the power, and that myth is the only one wielding it right. it would be neat if they realize this and start wearing their belts on their chests, and then get a different form out of it

14

u/Million_X 6d ago

Am I only just now noticing that My-th is the only one whose belt doesn't say 'Kamen Rider' when he transforms? That has to be pointing to something.

22

u/Volfaer 6d ago

That ranks right up there among strategies for defeating the monster of the week, kudos to the writing and directing teams for making such a generic creature interesting.

So, people reverting to normal is a specific trait of the My-Th, interesting, but since only Komuri and Asao know about it right now, we won't be seeing any internal conflict within the alliance over it. Talk about a bold move, he waited until Otosumi turned away to transform into Rid. Just imagine if he’d turned back around! Either that, or Otosumi has already figured it out, which is why he’s so dead set against Asao getting any more involved.

2

u/Potential-Mess6826 4d ago

A good point that I saw was that Otosumi asked Yuna to get the bag and catch the Ride X-Eggs from the Fukashigi and not Asao who was already helping.

So that leads credence to Otosumi knowing that Asao is Rid.

19

u/Million_X 6d ago

It's 100% he knows who Rid is, hell just after this episode alone he has to. "What happened to that guy who helped me out and where did this mysterious stranger with powers come from, surely there's no way that's just a coincidence, right?" would be the stupidest thing for a guy like Sora to ACTUALLY and wholeheartedly say/think.

7

u/Queasy-Discount5065 6d ago

They've established that Sora is a very clever person. Hes also observant and had planned on Rid being there.

He wouldnt be so confident that Rid would be interfering if he didn't know who he was so I think you have a point.

5

u/KaliVilNo1 Seiji Takaiwa No. 1 6d ago

I find cute how Yuna's dad says "Otosumi" to Sora's dad with the same cadence Yuna does to Sora lmao

5

u/Yaysuzu 6d ago

S.H.Figurats, I want the wolf NOW.

18

u/Omer1698 6d ago

Well I guess now we know what happend the day Sora and Yuna became orphens, well sort of. And this Akira is 100% the previous My-Th. He even talks about hope for humanity like he did in the first episode.

Also not sure what I love more about Sora, how much of a troll he is or the fact that bro is like me fr when it comes to cheese.

And also its pretty intreasting how only when Sora defete the Fukashigi their victims return? Maybe thats the hope for humanity the og My-Th was talking about, a way to save the humans after they were eatern by the Fukashigi. And the fact that Kamuri dosent seem to keen on talking something this crucial is diffidently suspicious.

3

u/chenhowe 6d ago

remember the finisher move is "X Seperade" with X being the frame form

7

u/Nice_Ad5549 6d ago

this Akira is 100% the previous My-Th. He even talks about hope for humanity like he did in the first episode

Akira is likely one of the missing Zodiac who's on the previous Myth's camp and is trying to fulfill his wish.

The "ma" in his name, Amataka, means Horse.

3

u/Omer1698 6d ago

Oh. Didnt know thats what his name mean. So maybe he is the horse rider.

2

u/Clear-Unit-2843 7d ago

Could someone help me understand the flashback arc? The one driving should be Sora's dad, since Yuna's dad addressed him as Otosuki. If so, who is the old man who popped out? And Sora addressed the old man as his dad the previous episode?

8

u/KaliVilNo1 Seiji Takaiwa No. 1 6d ago

Otosumi has never addressed Akira as his father or smth, the one driving was his dad. Tatsoumi made clear on episode 2 that according to his investigation Otosumi's dad died on the accident with Yuna's parents.

7

u/Yaysuzu 6d ago

I had the same question. He calls him "pops", as an older male figure, as a mentor perhaps, not as a dad. English is not my mother tongue; someone here explained it to me.

3

u/Shotakusei 6d ago

So that old man is not sora's dad, if you saw a subtitle that says otherwise, it's most likely a mistranslation, at the current moment we don't really know who the old man is, but he's most likely a mentor for Sora

15

u/CaptainTalon447 7d ago

I see we’re delving into Sora’s extensive list of obscure certifications

12

u/SGEzlo 6d ago

He has mastered 2000 skills

13

u/Obiwanhellothere09 7d ago

Wof Frame’s power is probably the most interesting thing out of all My-Th forms. He can only use the form’s true power if he’s under the light of a full moon.

5

u/RadioRavenRide 6d ago

Gonna be a scene later where the heroes have to set up a full moon to get a power up, like a special light.

2

u/Responsible-Flight-9 6d ago

Guess he can only use it once a month.

34

u/Kira757 7d ago

My-th is just so fun to watch I'm enjoying the little cat and mouse shenanigans. Sora's reaction to the cheese at the end of the episode had me dying.

24

u/Crooodle Ryuki 7d ago

He was denied his premium cheese in Ep2 so it's nice to see him rewarded here

14

u/Ranthe 7d ago

He's such a good rodent!

36

u/salvationdarkness 7d ago edited 7d ago

I like that Yuna and Sora are actually investigating and experimenting with ways to deal with the inexplicable; I hope there are more inexplicable they have to devise methods to defeat.

The fight scene was really fun—both the cat-and-mouse dynamic and the wolf form. Sora was quite clever, and he even got a piece of cheese as a thank-you.

The ending left me curious: so, when Sora defeats them, he manages to save the victims, but the Zodiac doesn't? It might be because they transform differently. This could serve as an incentive for Rid to switch sides, and with any luck, maybe one or two Zodiac members will become allies.

17

u/butthole164 6d ago edited 6d ago

I feel like the finisher sound effects were giving us clues to Sora’s capabilities to ‘separate’ the victim from the monster.

13

u/killerair321 6d ago

now that you talk about it, the more i see it.

the Zodiacs SFX is "Bakumetsu" while myth is "Seperade"

20

u/sultryrusky 7d ago

My bullet points for the episode:

Damn, opening didn't even start and they're already dropping a full flashback on us... I literally had to rewind every second

There's a 50/50 chance of this shady dude being Maou... but considering it was 8 years ago, weren't the Zodiacs still asleep?

What's up with the shots of both Yuna and Sora picking up the driver?

Mf they literally said: "yeah this 12 year old boy rider kicked the fuck out of this monster on first try" Sora is that THAT bitch

Arakawa is again doing what he did in Kuuga, aka "the first half of the episode is literally just a CSI episode"

I swear to God this lamp was something out of a "Japan lives in 2050" tiktok

Somehow My-th Wolf Frame finisher gave me both Faiz and Abaranger vibes...

My-th is such a troll to Rid I love it

So... this My-th wake up Yuna? If not, then imagining Sora going to sleep while in suit is pretty hilarious

There's not a single episode where Sora didn't do a memeable face XD

8

u/Wardestiny0 7d ago

Judging by the hand, it looked like Maoh in the flashback; I suspect the others were asleep while he wasn't, the different driver suggests to me there's something else going on there

22

u/Obiwanhellothere09 7d ago

I’m really digging My-Th’s and Rid’s Tom and Jerry style relationship.

3

u/AccelBurner 5d ago

Like the whole faking being injured to setup a kill steal was just so Jerry.

12

u/Interesting_Snow5574 7d ago

enjoyable episode

like how strong detective element in here

rid rider kick really take time to prepared

like he need to make a multiple laser pointer mark to charge a kick

12

u/abbacchioz 7d ago

Don't know if it was intentional on the costume department's part, but at the end of the episode, Tatsuomi and Otosumi's civilian clothes resembles Tom and Jerry's color schemes but flipped (Tatsuomi wearing brown, which is Jerry's color and Otosumi wearing blue, which is Tom's)

8

u/abbacchioz 7d ago

Lowkey this episode was peak. My fav episode so far

23

u/Trent2406 7d ago

The fact that Sora actually had to do investigative work here, and the way they beat the Fukashigi was clever. This makes me love Sora even more as an MC, he has the potential to be truly peak lol

u/rattatatouille Being Emu is suffering 7d ago

A thing that hasn't been commented on much is the difference between the dynamics between Yuna and her parents and Sora and his dad. The Mizukis seem to be a caring family, with Yuna very happy with her parents, while Sora's relationship with his dad seemed tense.

2

u/RicardoFrijoles 5d ago

I'd be pretty cranky if my only future job choice was servant

2

u/PineappleSlices Ron! Roooon! 5d ago

Sora's mom might have also died recently, considering that she wasn't in the car with them but he refers to the incident as what left him an orphan. It also checks out with the kind of reticent attitude he was giving off in the car ride.

22

u/Shran_Cupasoupa 7d ago

I think it's possible that Sora has been inducted into being the new My-Th or a trainee to take over his father at age, which is why I think he knew, even young, what to do when the attack happened.

His family seem quite committed to protect the Mizukis.

15

u/According_Fan4696 Gotchard fan until the end of time! 7d ago

Yeah, he probably feels some sort of jealousy or resentment towards Yuna’s parents.

30

u/Working-Spell-7024 7d ago

Sora must not have been happy with the idea of being a butler before shit hit the fan.

5

u/Frontier246 6d ago

I wonder if he and Yuna also weren't near as close until after they both lost their parents and he ended up taking care of her?

13

u/faptain_asian 7d ago

almost thought the cat was going to give the mouse the middle finger lmao

61

u/GenesisGeno 7d ago

Yuna and Sora doing proper research and detective works is very reminiscent of Arakawa's style of writing seen in Kuuga and Dekaranger. Its so cool to see again.

10

u/Frontier246 6d ago

Sora really feels like Batman + Alfred since he's a butler but also hyper-competent in everything both in combat and otherwise.

36

u/rattatatouille Being Emu is suffering 7d ago

He likes them procedurals. The Inexplicables are kinda like a more kid-friendly version of the Gurongi, even.

12

u/Frontier246 6d ago

Unless you're a member of the Zodiac Alliance where the Inexplicable/Fukashigi basically do successfully kill off the humans if the Zodiacs kill them.

I love Sora and Tatsuomi's dynamic in this, it's just so much fun having them kind of compete during the fights and honestly I feel like Sora should be able to figure out that Tatsuomi is Rid because bro just straight up transformed without even hiding it and I feel like Sora should've noticed to some degree.

2

u/dagobahs 6d ago

If he knows, Sora is definitely keeping things close to the vest. Probably so he can fully figure out what Tatsuomi's true motives are.

3

u/Frontier246 6d ago

It's definitely an interesting take on the usual Main/Secondary rivalry.

19

u/MrMattBlack 7d ago

Sora planning for Rid to show up makes me think he's onto Tatsuomi, honestly. He might not be sure yet, but he might be putting the picture together step by step.

30

u/Crooodle Ryuki 7d ago

The way things are going, Kamuri's gonna end up confiscating everyone's belts.

6

u/Frontier246 6d ago

Probably why he sends Jyao and Vanken out. He's tired of failure.

11

u/Haunting_Search_7775 7d ago

Kamuri is practically the main villain for the first half of My-Th at least, and considering that Yuna has the potential to become the 'hope' that the Black My-Th mentioned, Kamuri might try to kill her or exploit her for his own self-righteous ambitions

3

u/Frontier246 6d ago

I'm just curious how long it's going to take before he fights My-Th personally.

Probably my favorite episode from this series so far! I really liked the use of technological innovation/evolution in this episode and how it was needed to take down the fukashigi this episode. I really hope they keep doing this moving forward! Yuna’s involvement in this episode was pretty great as well and if they make this aspect of her character consistent throughout the show then she might be one of my favorite female leads in the reiwa era with Rinne and Izu. Can’t wait for the next episode!

21

u/cybeast21 7d ago

Not just taking down, the Fukashigi itself uses the tower for transmission, basically evolving with technology!

18

u/According_Fan4696 Gotchard fan until the end of time! 7d ago

That’s another excellent point! Now I can’t wait to see how other Fukashigi evolves with the technology! It feels like the humans are unknowingly making them stronger!

13

u/HenshinDictionary 7d ago

That flashback scene seriously raises questions. The car was definitely attacked, and who is the uncle dude who manages to show up at that point with no-one questioning it? He totally did it, calling it now.

1

u/AD720fps 3d ago

"Oh nooo, the adults are dead leaving behind only these impressionable, emotionally raw, and easily exploitable children to do what I want them to do"

13

u/Seibahtoe 7d ago

The uncle is 100% a Zyunishi Doumei member that's loyal to old Myth.

He's wounded when he shows up too, implying he has been fighting something before that

15

u/DLNavy 7d ago

The Ox helped the Rat to cross the river in that old race story, could assume that it's him.

Also seeing that they took elements from 12 Zodiacs TOO seriously to develop the story and design for Zyunishi Doumei, like Born Buckle users are sorted based on direction, My-th bike is called Watter because the Rat is water element. I think we're cool to make theories based on the myth/study about 12 Zodiacs.

2

u/Minimallycheese 5d ago

Someone in another comment pointed out that the name Amataka could be a play on “Ma” meaning “Horse” in Chinese.

That eyecatching red/orange shirt he wears does match up fairly well with Ride X-egg 7.

1

u/DLNavy 5d ago

Yeah thanks, I just read it recently as well. Let’s see how they’re pull this

5

u/abbacchioz 7d ago

Adding to this theory, Oroc will also probably use the Hammer Born Buckle to henshin (based on his leaked sounds). Considering how Tatsuomi frequents the Mizuki resident, his driver and buckle might get stolen by the unc at some point

9

u/cybeast21 7d ago

I think the flashback was cut, it seems the egg Sora took was from some Fukashigi, I'm guessing the old man taught Sora how to transform into My-th to fight

And the one who attacked them was either Mao or random Fukashigi (Or Mao can control Fukashigi)

20

u/Presenting_UwU 7d ago edited 7d ago

Immediately starting with LOTS of questions here, so the family was on their way somewhere together, when what seems like a Fukashigi (a very similar one to last week's Fukashigi at that) attacked them and caused the deaths of both Yuna's parents and Sora's dad.

It then goes to a scene in the wreckage with a lot of distortion, we see Yuna's mom die slightly off screen as the Fukashigi picked her up, but for some reason Yuna and Sora were spared, there was a scene that showed Yuna taking the Driver, but it glitched and switched to Sora taking the driver.

then another scene where they both Stand up and the fire cleared up from some sort of energy that came out of Yuna? then Sora's Uncle? Who is he? He showed up after what seemed like Sora defeating the Fukashigi off screen to tell Yuna about how special she is, this leaves so many questions in my mind...

Also it's sad to know that the reason Yuna practices Piano is to keep her promise too her father, the one they made during that fateful day :(

Edit: LMFAO, My-th used Rid's eagerness to study the Fukashigi while Rid fights it all by himself, Asao got played like a fiddle

I wonder if Sora's "I'm a certified [Insert profession]" is gonna be a long running joke to epxlain why he has so many weird shit (Sheep cheese! hell yeah!)

And the mouse tricks the cat once more, damn that was a dirty move Sora, LMFAO. Also, apparently someone being eaten by a Fukashigi and returning to normal like we saw here and in Ep 2 isn't supposed to be possible?

Maybe this has some sort of relation with Yuna's ability? Also, Rid got his belt confiscated for failing, shame 😔

Asao is finally an official part of the team! Yayyy!! Next episode, Yuna gets taken by a Fukashigi? Or well something happens to Yuna.

We'll also finally see Jyao and Vanken, sounds like shit's gonna hit the fan next week.

8

u/DamonDD 7d ago

Sora uncle says Yuna is a savior, I'm guessing the ability to bring back people eaten by Fukashigi is unique to My-th due to Yuna's connection. I think later on in the show, we'll see one of the Zodiac will beats a Fukashigi (likely Rid) and we see people eaten didn't come back/died permanently and this will affect the main trio relationship

5

u/Presenting_UwU 7d ago

yeah that's probably it, it's also possible that Yuna is the Evolution that the Black My-th talked about at the beginning

2

u/Jamieb1994 7d ago

I don't think the belt was taken since I think Asao was using Datt's belt while he was lending Maou's buckle.

3

u/Presenting_UwU 7d ago

Well, no, the buckle Rid was using was a Hammer Born Buckle, Maou's Driver is kind of its own whole different beast rather than simply a buckle, it's not like any of the 4 buckles we've seen the Jyunishi Doumei used.

and yeah he was using Datt's belt, that's why it was taken away by Maou at the end of the episode, cause not only did Rid didn't get a single Seed X-Eggs despite having the power to, he got duped by My-th.

so yeah, his situation was meant to be temporary anyways, since Rid is not officially part of the 12 Zodiacs, he's just a lower members of the alliance, so the Buckle is definitely getting confiscated and the belt returned to Datt.

12

u/Vavavavaxon7 Lopo 5d ago

I can totally see a dramatic reveal scene where Tatsuomi tearfully admits that he's been Rid the whole time and apologizing for deceiving Sora and Yuna only for them to be like "yeah we know, we figured it out weeks ago, dude. You weren't exactly subtle."

25

u/maemoedhz 7d ago

With that proximity henshin and only hidden behind a speaker, I'd be impressed if Sora hasn't figured it out already

8

u/Frontier246 6d ago

Sora's mouse Batman, I feel like he would notice how Tatsuomi vanished and Rid finally appeared.

10

u/cybeast21 7d ago

I wonder if originally, every Zodiac has their own "Yuna" who give permission instead, that also act as limiter? By having the attachment, it eliminates the need of "master" but also removes the limiter, which ends up killing Fukashigi host instead of just saving them (like what My-th do).

And with Mao taking Mouse's place, every "master" was killed leaving one (Yuna's great descendant), which was why Otosumi family was tasked with protecting the family?

7

u/Legitimate-Damage472 7d ago

Hmm so its not about only take the ride egg from fukashigi but also saving the person. This is like gangler but not personal as lupinranger does. Lupinranger have to get the collection first before destroy gangler while patranger doesn't give a shit, capture lupinranger and also destroy the gangler. While in myth, only myth that can save person that already being change to or capture by fukashigi and zodiac riders cant do it. Its like myth is solo lupinranger and jyunishi doumei is a group of patranger.

11

u/AbbyAZK 7d ago

This show just has an unbelievably amount of sauce which really scares me because usually the trend of very start strong rider shows tend to become mid in the middle half and then are okay in the final arc, really hope MYTH is in good hands from start to finish, it has insane potential to be one of the best rider shows.

3

u/MegaMeteorite 7d ago

I didn't enjoy this episode as much as I did the previous episode, but there's a lot of interesting stuff in it.

I absolutely love the investigation part, this kind of sequences is why I love episodic incidents in shows, it's so much fun. Characters accidentally finding out the answer to the problem while doing mundane, unrelated stuff is such a cliché in detective stories, but it always works.

The flashback at the beginning of the episode seems jumbled, meaning that what  actually happened that day could be very different from Yuna's memory.

My-th and Rid feel more and more like Jerry and Tom, with My-th tricking Rid and stealing his kills. Poor Tatsuomi, he did so much to try to complete his mission, yet the only things he got was words of disappointment from Kamuri.

14

u/tylook 7d ago

25

u/NextMotion 7d ago

holy fuck, tatsuomi just said that people consumed by monsters weren't supposed to be restored. I was about to roll my eyes when people came back to life as being eaten, but you know what, that turned my opinion around. Maybe one day, the zodiac guys killed one and accidentally (or not) sealed a victim's fate.

lmao otosumi fooling with Rid. This is the dynamic I expected.

3

u/Frontier246 6d ago

So now it's basically not just about the X-Eggs but My-Th is the only Rider that can actually save people consumed by Fukashigi.

28

u/wan_lifelinker 7d ago

Just realized that My-th finisher said “Separate”, while the Zodiac Riders said “Bakumetsu”, which roughly means “explosive destroy”.

7

u/NextMotion 7d ago edited 7d ago

Yeah, I also considered that, but how do you separate digested humans? Whatever. It's magic lol. Interesting thought tho. It's not just separating eggs

Pretty neat if the toy designers added that for some reason, and the writer took notice of that.

8

u/wan_lifelinker 7d ago

My theory is that humans eaten are “digested” not in the normal sense (via acid), but instead turning them directly into energy. Seeing as how Shiori’s dad came back (particle/energy reassembling back into him),this is the theory I came up with.

Being able to incorporate toys into the lore is a required skill for a Kamen Rider writer, I think. Or you can do it the Inoue way, and ignore everything and write your story regardless of toys.

16

u/kowasesurejjihanma 8d ago

so if Rid's Bokumetsu(TL:Extermination) last episode killed the real fukashigi the dad would still be dead? damn
only My-th Separate can restore the "eaten" human which is part of the belt's mystery how it doesnt need buckle, showing a different hidden animal when using ride-eggs and how yuna in some way powered it

going of the theory that the person Maou killed 100 years ago have the same ability as Yuna, Black My-th is very clearly in the right on wanting to have the power to restore human eaten by fukashigi. but Maou saying "that person is a curse" its probably not so black and white

I Really like this episode, I think my favorite so far. It looks like the type if show that will get better as it goes.

I really like the Visuals of the Flashback at the beggining with the harsh cut and like glitching stuff. I really want to know more about our MCs Pasts. We will most likley get a more detailed Recreation of the Accident in the future, not sure when. I alos like how both Yuna and Sora are very Smart~

I also liked hiw the action felt way better now, they did use plenty of CGI but it was less than the previous episode and the camera work actually made me apreciate the combat this time, hope it gets better.

Rid may realize that MyTh method saves more people that the Zodiacs methods since he though its imposible to save the "eaten". It also Seems that when Zodiacs kill the Kiji it get destroy while Myth has the "Seoaration" thing

19

u/ThreeGoldfishProblem ZEZTZ 8d ago
  • Wolf Frame looks so cool, and it needing the full moon to take the muzzle off and unleash the beast is an interesting limitation, which is there to explain why Sora doesn't use it much lol. Up to this point, all frame forms need to take something off to use special abilities- The shell for Turtle and the muzzle for Wolf, not sure if this trend(if I can call it that) will continue.
  • It's nice to see one of Sora's multiple qualifications being put to use for a case, as well as more on Yuna's part of the investigation. Good to see more traits from Asao as well, immediately trying to compensate for his failure.
  • Yuna's the hope of humanity. Very interesting for the "chosen one" not to be a rider
  • Mao's dismissal of Asao's question seems very suspicious to me. Is it somehow better for him that the Fukashigi victims don't be saved? Like, more life energy from the eggs?
  • It seems next episode we'll dive deeper into Yuna's need for the Seed Eggs, which could make Asao more sympathetic to Sora's struggle. Also, Vanken and Jyao next

2

u/Frontier246 6d ago

Also noticed that during the "first" transformation sequence in the flashback Yuna suddenly seemed kind of...possessed and locked in to be able to let Sora transform for the first time?

5

u/Heywhatyousa- 8d ago

Fantastic episode!!!

Wolf frame was awesome and poor Rider getting kill stealed.

Also that observation about the rescued humans that Taotsuomi did.... Put me to think that the My-th driver was heavely upgraded to do more than just destroing monsters (contrasting the Alliance driver). Also Maou reacted to that piece of info.

Next week: Vanken and Jyao debut.

u/skylight03 8d ago

The mysteries are getting more and more interesting although I kinda wish they didn't center it again on a female character. That's two consecutive series now with Nemu last time.

7

u/Skitty_The_Kitty3225 🗡️ "I will Decide how the Story Ends!" 📖 8d ago

Why not? It looks interesting, I think I'm even more interested on Yuna's role that I was about Nemu's

10

u/throwawaytempest25 8d ago

To be fair the heroines need to do something, otherwise what’s the point in having them in the main cast if they don’t have anything to do regardless of depth and a valid criticism with Sachika was out of the four Gavv heroes she was the only one who did things without much of a backstory or push for development. While it’s not a prerequisite, in general characters that have a personal incentive into the story and are actively involved in the story and grow/change from it is a benefit than a negative, regardless of if they transform or not, so keeping Yuna aware in the story is the best case scenario for now

30

u/kekiCake 8d ago

As a whole the episode reminds me quite a bit of Kuuga and Agito, the scene with the map reminded me of the whole police trying to solve the pattern of the attacks for the Grongi and Unknown, so I wonder if we'll get something somewhat similar throughout the rest of the show, though the Zodiacs probably mean we're going to have a different plot progression from those two.

There's also a larger focus on civilian life which I find a breath of fresh air after Zeztz. I don't know if I'd consider it a "requirement" for a rider show to have it, but since KR has always had a big theme of duality between humanity and monstrosity, it's become a staple for a reason. We get a bit of insight between characters and get to see them have interactions which I'm kinda happy for.

Zeztz I find extremely atmospherically different from a lot of other shows, especially Gavv before it, and I wonder if part of that is just that Baku is not allowed to really have a civilian life, even if it is kinda justified. We got limited actual time in the real world b/c of the separation of dream and reality, so it kinda had to be used to advance plot, so there's less room for character interactions/insights, which probably contributed to some of the critiques had of it.

Somehow it ended up about Zeztz (though mind you I do still like it). Sorry. Anyways I liked the episode.

Also, I wonder what happens if Sora tries to henshin with another X-Egg? Mouse form isn't considered a frame like the rest, would Yuna say "become a wolf?" Can he henshin at all?

3

u/wizardofpancakes Riderman 4d ago

Zeztz was weirdly unfocused, it had quite a big cast of characters but most of them were not fleshed out.

4

u/Frontier246 6d ago

If a Fukashigi deliberately attacked Yuna and her family it seems like one of them was sentient enough to go deliberately after whoever had the My-Th Driver.

-9

u/Disastrous_Juice2100 8d ago

I disagree. The civilians Interaction with Baku is there the only time it didn’t happen was the chef episode but it makes sense because he was in coma so there was interaction between them and Baku. But he doesn’t need to be with them constantly because he’s a secret agent. His job is to understand why it’s happening, stop the threat, and save the day. and why should I care about these people when they are not gonna appear at all after that you know so I like the approach of zeztz of them not following them because all I need to see is our heroes do their work I don’t care about these people you know.

6

u/Kira757 6d ago

I don’t think you understand the concept of world building lmfao.

-4

u/Disastrous_Juice2100 6d ago

lol

4

u/Kira757 6d ago

No seriously whenever anyone talks about Zeztz’s lack of world building in a thread all you do is jump in and try to defend bad writing.

7

u/TraditionalSwimmer16 6d ago

Not to mention, this is also just a particularly odd defense because it misses the point of those civilian interactions being about convincing the audience to care about those people as Baku does.

2

u/Frontier246 6d ago

But...but that's the only way to actually save the humans consumed!!!

53

u/gshshsnhjmry 8d ago edited 8d ago

So theory based on the flashback:

- The first shot of Yuna grabbing the My-Th Driver is replaced by Sora grabbing it with a banging sound and static

- The shift happens two more times: Once to switch between Sora being on the ground helping Yuna up to Sora walking with the Driver. The second shift is to Yuna standing alone unleashing purple energy

- Amataka seemingly comes out of nowhere to tell Sora he did a good job, and tells Yuna to "live correctly". He doesn't seem surprised in the slightest at what happened

I think this is a clear indication that there's going to be an element of time travel. It lines up with the final shot of the opening being what appears to be a bunch of branching paths as My-Th rides ahead and Yuna disappears.

I'm sure the details are different but here's what I think is likely:

- Yuna is the same "humanity's hope" Black My-Th and MAOU were arguing about 100 years ago. If she is raised "incorrectly", she causes the apocalypse.

- In the original timeline, Yuna took the My-Th driver, stood alone, and unleashed the purple energy.

- Amataka is from the original timeline that was destroyed by Yuna, as shown by him standing in the rubble in the opening. He travelled back in time to ensure Sora has the driver, and not Yuna.

- Kamuri is an interloper from another timeline. The trailer where the Cat replaces the Mouse in the Zodiac uses the same static effect

And some things I think aren't likely but could be true:

- Amataka is a future version of Sora

- There was a timeline where Asao gets My-Th's powers instead of Sora. Kamuri took over the Zodiacs specifically to prevent / control that

- Ryuz is also a time-displaced version of another character we know

- The Fukashigi are mutated humans who were dragged in from other failed timelines

1

u/wizardofpancakes Riderman 4d ago

what a great analysis!

7

u/Frontier246 6d ago

I think Amataka is definitely the prior My-Th and he lost the ability to BE My-Th which is why he needs Sora/Yuna.

interesting that 2 riders (Vanken, Jyao) will debut next week

5

u/Frontier246 6d ago

Also seems like we're finally getting into the real tension between My-Th and the other Riders in that if they get the X-eggs and My-Th doesn't, it's bad for Yuna.

(Also Kamuri doesn't care that My-Th might be able to save humans from the Fukashigi)

Seeing the opening has me curious if Asao is somehow connected to Sora & Yuna. I know Asao is currently Yuna's tutor, although the ending has got me curious with the document he had, but aside from that. The opening shows Yuna sharing scenes with Sora & Asao and that has got me thinking if them 3 altogether or at least Yuna has a connection to Asao that they don't know about.

  • Well damn, starting right off immediately with the Sora & Yuna flashback in full! Some intriguing parts in there, like the purple energy emanating from Yuna and the two getting to meet Akira aka Pops.
  • Sora sure is one skilled fellow with that electrical stuff, given he was established to have many qualifications.
  • LOL the imagine spot with Tatsuomi and Sora -- that punch!
  • Ayyy that Wolf Frame fight scene -- THAT BITE TO THE HEART!!!
  • Hah, Sora being sneaky for that finisher.
  • D'awwww that moment with Sora saving Yuna, a butler sure really is committed to protect!
  • Tatsuomi retrieving the driver and buckle for now -- guess we'll see Rid again in a few episodes soon.
  • Really liking the chemistry between Tatsuomi and Sora btw!
  • Next time, the dog and snake rush into the fray!

21

u/No_Trifle_458 8d ago

If the Alliance is really about fighting the Fukashigi, then they wouldn't resort to kidnapping next episode. They're hellbent on destroying My-th that they sent the dog and snake out. Something tells me they're really not about fighting off the Fukashigi.

1

u/Frontier246 6d ago

They just don't want My-Th to keep getting X-Eggs over them.

14

u/Jamieb1994 8d ago

I wonder if the Alliance has a code/rules that they need to follow or they're allowed to do their own thing.

1

u/Frontier246 6d ago

Seems like it's all about who collects the most X-Eggs and impresses Kamuri the most.

Obviously they also seem to care about protecting humanity (or at least some of them do) but they're probably made their peace that they can't save anyone consumed by a Fukashigi until Tatsuomi realized you CAN.
